Automation of a production line for Weba Olomouc
A system that has already handled over 7,000 production orders and prepared the line for further growth.
Problem
The client’s goal: where they were and where they wanted to go
The manufacturing company Weba Olomouc wanted to increase the efficiency of its new CNC production line, which was originally designed for manual operation. The goal was to create software that could manage automated operations with a robotic arm and prepare the company for scaling – from 2 up to 6 machines.

Solution
Manual operation as a bottleneck
Before implementing the new software solution, the production line was entirely manual – parts were loaded into CNC machines using a crane. Each manipulation required operator input, which created several issues:

- Production slowdown – downtime accumulated between steps, extending the full production cycle.
- Human dependency – without an operator, production stopped; continuous or night shifts were impossible.
- Error and damage risk – manual handling of heavy parts increased the risk of collisions, misplacements, and component damage.
- No scalability – expanding the line to more machines would multiply labor demands and error risk.
Simply put, the line couldn’t grow without growing administration and manual labor. It was clear that the future had to be digital and automated.
Result
From idea to a fully functional solution
In collaboration with Solicad, we were brought in to develop the “brain of the line” – software capable of managing current operations and enabling future growth. The main requirement: simple operation even for non-programmers, robust performance, and compatibility with various technologies.

- Dashboard in PHP + Vue.js for managing the entire production lifecycle: from storage to finished product. User access is role-based (planner, CNC programmer, operator…).
- Mazak Connector (in C#) for direct communication with CNC machines using the Mazak Ethernet Library.
- OPC Bridge (in Node.js) for communication with PLCs and robotic arms.
- The delivery also included hardware infrastructure – a server with VPN access and virtual machine configuration.
Opportunity
And the results?
From the line’s launch on January 22, 2020, to July 31, 2025, the system successfully processed 7,054 orders. The line now operates fully automatically, with optional operator assistance. It’s ready for expansion up to six CNC machines without major rework. Operations and planning are now digital, secure, and transparent.
